Size of Repair

We work in inches. The final repair will add an additional 3/4 inch to the top and bottom of the repair, which we need to do for structure.  This is called the seam allowance.

Purchase the size according the length of the tear, plus seam allowance.

Size up if in between sizes.  So, if the tear is 3.5 inches, purchase a 5 inch repair.  

If your repair is in multiple locations, add all the trim area plus the seam allowance for the total.

For example, if you have 2 inches at the sleeve and 6 inches at the waist, it would be:

Total Number of Inches:  (2 + 6)= 8

Plus

(Number of locations + 1.5 in seam allowance)= 3 inches

Equals:  11 inches
